Kernel / atari-fdisk problem with IDE-HD > 8,4 GB
Hi!
Ther is a problem with the Kernels available in the current
atari-install directories on the debain-ftp-servers.
On large (== every new Disk, yet) IDE-Harddisks the real disk size
is greater then the reported size by the HD itself in C/H/S notation.
The reported LBA- size is correct, but not used by the Kernel so the
atari-fdisk programm reports errors. If a partition, e.g. created
with a TOS-HD-Tools like 'HDDRIVER 7.8' (witch does not have the
problem) is located across this border, the installation-script will
bring lots of error-messages.
Is there a fixed Kernel available?, I am using an ST520 with PAK/FRAK-3,
c't-IDE-Adapter( == Falcon030), 4/32MB-RAM and a Mach32-VGA (Panther2).
ciao Joerg
