At least _THAT_ known that I had a bit similar problems with A2k and GVP's
G-Force 68030/50. Although I was able to boot, I was never able to install a
debian dist since the kernel always got unstable sooner or later. Also it
doesn't 'reboot' properly. CTRL-A-A required to get Alert() message after the
system halted.

Since nobody could help me with that, I resorted to run NetBSD on this machine
without problems.
