X on Quadra 630

I installed debian and installed all the X packages from a CD (which I
bought for Debain m68k 2.0), and when I type startx I get a bunch of
output, then a black screen, and when I type command-F2, and then
command-F1 which gives me a number of errors (including 113 and 3 (i
think)). I installed the FB-Dev. The error I get just sais that it can't
open a connection to the X server. Also, when I type ps aux I don't see a
xdm process going, and apparantly there is a file in /etc/init.d/ called
xdm. Any input would be helpful. thanks
