DC16 recruitment funding [Was: Re: Fwd: CLUG talk Tuesday: 8 September: DebConf15 feedback]

Hi

backstory: >> DC16's budget will cover dinner (reasonable amount) for
everyone that commits to help out with a team. Nigel suggested
covering dinner after the CLUG meetup where we are reporting on
DebConf.

I feel that it's a great idea in principle, but I'm afraid that the
CLUG group will feel steamrollered by the DebConf crowd.

I think a better way to do this is to get in touch with Robyn Farah
(Arduino CT) who is now doing Modern Alchemist [1] events every
Wednesday. We can sponsor or contribute to one, and advertise that
through the CLUG etc etc communities.

Having more team get-togethers paid for by this may also work. On that
note, Stefano is in Cape Town some time, we should arrange the next
braai to coincide when he's here.

How much money are we talking here?

Cheers
B
