My suggestion would be to require as few chairs as possible. They
would only be needed by people with specific needs but the average C&W
attendee is fine by attending it by standing and wandering around.

I'd suggest handling the party indoors if it's handled on the
campus. Some C&W were partly outdoors (C&W9 and 12, to some extent
13...) but the main venue was indoor (except C&W9....but we had a
backup option of handling it indoor)

The "perfect place" for a C&W has enough space to accomodate about 200
people attendance wandering around a 10 to 20 tables full of plates
with cheese on them as well as a few tables with bottles of various
drinks.

After the initial rush on cheese that lasts for about 30-45 minutes,
people will spread out around the place, in every possible place to
enjoy the moment, discussing, "partying" (which can be noisy), sitting
around informally, etc. Having the possibility of moving indoor *and*
outdoor is a bonus, particularly if the weather is fine.

The ideal place has a kitchen and fridge storage nearby (otherwise
everything has to be brought from the plate where cheese is stored -->
don't forget about organizing cheese storage *before* the party and
have somebody in harge of this).

Please feel free to ask for any kind of additionnal details. Even if
it's now certain that I won't be attending DC14 and, therefore, this
will be the first DebConf C&W that I do *not* organize....I can
probably be of some help and I still read the debconf-team mailign
list..:-)

The most demanding for C&W organizers are the days *before* the
C&W. You need 1-3 people mostly focused on that from the beginning of
DebConf up to the C&W day. These people will need to gather a "team"
of about 10 persons for the C&W day and spread out among them the
various tasks that need to be done (these tasks often depend quite a
lot on the local faiclities, before and during the C&W, as well as
they depend on the distanc ebetween the C&W place and the main DC
place).
