Well IMHO our goals for such a sprint would be: * Add the Beagle Bone Blacks to the Opsis case
Although I have been saying BBB there is some query if 100mBit Ethernet is enough.... It may not be for RAW video, but if there is some encoding this may be enough.... I am revisiting this question at the moment.
* Work on debugging the Opsis firmware * Package the Opsis related software in Debian * Test & review our FAI voctomix setup * Agree on a list of AV equipment to replace the old one
I should have a list of proposed kit, and drawings ready before the sprint. We also have an offer of a 'plug fest' to test opsis / voctomix against different cameras, projectors etc (form an AV hire company who are happy to support us and previously sponsored miniconf Cambridge). They suspect that they can get us better prices when purchasing AV kit too.
I think that the next step with the Opsis is to make it work without all the hassle we got at DC16. The list of goals we discussed last meeting aims for that. -- pollo On 2016-08-07 22:06, Carl Karsten wrote:Can we brain storm some ideas about what will be worked on? I don't want to debate if we should or shouldn't or the details just get an idea of what I might be doing. I like the idea of a sprint, I know the benefits of meeting and working together in person, I am trying to prioritize it against the dozen other things on my plate. During today's meeting we decided that we should aim for 2 sprints this year and that the first sprint should happen somewhere during Autumn. We did not have time to set a date nor a venue for said first sprint, but decided we would meet on *Wednesday August 10th from 19:00 to 20:00* to make a decision. If you have ideas on when and where to hold this first sprint, please add them to this wiki page: https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf17/Videoteam/Sprint1 Based on the info that will be added to the wiki, we will make our decision. It is thus good to put clear and pertinent information on the wiki! -- pollo _______________________________________________ Debconf-video mailing list Debconf-video@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-video_______________________________________________ Debconf-video mailing list Debconf-video@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-video
