Re: [Debconf-video] ¿Which software is you using for stream the talks?

Thanks Rodrigo Rodriguez for the diagram

You're welcome.

The diagram reminds me the Sguil (Bammm Visher Snort-GUI) Intrusion
Detection System, 1 pc for alert storage on MySQL Server, 1 pc for each
subnet monitored and that sensor linked to the server (many sensors as
required), 1 client "console" for the analyst (many consoles as required).

I didn't get the idea about the number of computers involved in the
streaming/storage process...

and i have another doubt...

that "twinpact" dedicated ethernet firewire what kind of device is?
is something like "firewire 2 ethernet" converter switch?
or is just a 10/100/1000 switch to handle the "video stations" data and link them
to the DVSwitch station?

Is this: http://www.amazon.com/Canopus-TWINPACT-Digital-Video-Converter/dp/B000K3HT1K

A better image: http://bit.ly/p6eQqn

maybe the answers are obvious, just that kind of devices are unfamiliar to me

...one computer for camera sounds expensive, but maybe could be cheaper
at long time (making the comparison with commercial services)

I will read docs, wikis, tutorials and project pages to a better understanding, and
try.

Thanks a lot Rodrigo
Have a nice day.

Hi Edgar!

First of all, I'm happy Wouter already answered to you with the
real answer to your question ;-)

That's right - We don't like using non-free software or non-controlled
infrastructures. Specially if it's so easy to do it by ourselves! (not
implying that the videoteam's work is trivial, of course)

Actually, we were yesterday chating on debconf12-nicaragua about the video-team and we found it amazing.

Edgar: here's a diagram of what you could need and how it works the DebConf streaming. It's kind of confussed, but awesome:

Thank's for the post, Gunnar. That maybe will work for a better explanation.

We'll try to implement it locally, just for fun. :)
