I'm sure I'm missing something, but it's unclear to me what the
benefits of setting up a new email alias every year would provide?
Typically I've see this done, when one address is getting too much
email, and people split the traffic off because many people are
getting irrelevant traffic. I've also seen it when a subteam needs to
have high traffic discussions and don't want to "SPAM" the rest of the
team.
Do you mind elaborating further?
(Anyone reading this should feel free to also express reasons whether
or not to move from our current permanent email address:
sponsors@debconf.org, to having a new and separate fundraising email
address for each debconf.)

I don't think it's the only downside, but we can definitely look into
seeing what's up with the CLI.
