Hi,
This seems similar to what we have done every year. We set the deadline
for requesting sponsorship early but people still could register *paying*
until the date we had to do the room reservation with the hotel/residence.
I do not know how is the arragement with the hotels, but we should make clear
the only thing we should close 8th May is *requesting for sponsorship*: lodging
and travel.
Also, people has been always welcome to come last minute but they didn't have
t-shirt or possibility of staying in teh same place that other attendees.
About the talks/events, last year we allowed late submission and later
scheduled them in the "non official" track or whatever we ended calling it.
Summarising:
---
8th May: end of register if you want to ask sponsored stuff
End of events submissions for official track.
>From 9th May until final reservation in hotel is done:
People can register if they pay.
After the final reservation in the hotel is done:
People still can come but they have to look their own lodging/food, no
t-shirt. maybe no badge, etc.
---
>From 9th May until Debconf itself:
people can still submit events and they will have to check with the
people scheduling if they can be held.
