Here in Brazil, I have no problems to produce banners using inkscape. Usually the size is limited to "mouth" of the print.
90cm or 120cm .. or more ..
90x300 or 90x500 .. size is "unlimited", the limit is in the "mouth".

The cost of printing here is about: $30 (dollar) per square meter (1m²).
We will be printing local, costs are fairly competitive, and we won't have to deal with overseas shipping.
I have some logos in vector. We must be all in vector.
