I guess it's ok if they asked for it. I don't like it too much,
though. They gave us money to be a sponsor, and we gave them
acknowledgement in return. Last year, we gave a discounted price for
two people that came from a certain sponsor in .ar, that had given us
more than what was needed for the category, because *they asked for
it* nicely, and we found that their request was fair.

I don't think it should be the rule that if people from a sponsoring
company come to DebConf without being sponsored attendees, they get
free food. I don't mind doing it, for some special cases, but it
sounds to me like it is expected that if they are sponsors, then they
should get free food, regardless of the fact that the company might
perfectly well be willing to pay for the food.

In any case, I think it would be a good idea to ask them to request
the food tickets only of the days that they will actually eat with us,
so as not to cover extra food for people who will then go eat
somewhere else. I mean, make it clear to them that if they say they
are going to eat with us and then go somewhere else, it means wasted
money for us.
