Hmmm... Well, first of all, we don't have yet agreed on how to treate
cases like yours - You can of course attend if you are interested in
contributing - bringing more potential contributors is one of the main
goals of Debconf!
Regarding sponsorship for accomodation: In principle, you will get
it. If you bring somebody accompanying you, they would (I think, this
is one of the points we have yet to finish discussing) have to pay for
their stay. Oaxtepec hotels are very cheap, so don't worry.
I have the following information regarding the hotel where we will
host Debconf:
Oaxtepec Vacational Center can host 1838 people, in a total of 401
rooms divided in 5 categories. The prices listed here are for low
season - High season is ~10% extra (and Friday and Saturday are high
season). One US dollar is roughly 10.50 Mexican pesos.
Houses (7 people): MX$976
Bungalows (5 people): MX$778
Executive hotel (3 people): MX$515
Executive hotel jr. (3 people): MX$567
Executive hotel Master (2 people): MX$623
Familiar hotel (6 people): MX$460
Familiar hotel (4 people): MX$345
Juvenile hotel (4 people): MX$263
Extra person: MX$82
Just across the road from the Vacational Center you will find Club
Dorado's. It has eight lodging areas (rooms, suites and villas), and
room for 1200 people.
Rooms:
Double: MX$500
Triple: MX$645
Quadruple: MX$780 - MX$955 (2 matrimonial beds)
Villas:
For 4: MX$1380
For 6: MX$1645
Extra person: $200
There are many more hotels in the area, but those two are the well
known ones we can recommend - Of course, the first is much more
recommended, as Debconf will be held there :)
