I am not sure whether it is a good idea to help persons from Brest to
install Debian on their machine and then travel back to far far away
leaving the person without help. And they ARE going to need help, since
Linux is an entirely different thing from Windows.
I think that it would be a better idea to have local people supported by
local people. I do hope that Brest does have a reasonably active Linux
User Group that could do local support. Brest Metropole has a quarter of
a million inhabitants, I hope that they have a Linux community.
This is a valid point. To address this problem I was hoping to
collaborate with a [local hackerspace][1] or a local LUG. This would
have the additional benefit that we might be able to use their premises
as the DebConf venue is somewhat outside Brest proper.
