In order to start from the beginning, there were some problems, when I
tried to register for DebConf13 with Pentabarf. I need three attempts,
before I was registered correctly, basically had to to the same
procedure three times, befor it worked.
I also talked to some people about Penta's usability, and there was
rumor already, that it is going to be replaced by something else,
because it basically consists of a collection and concatenation of dirty
hacks, with problems on both ends, user-side and administration-side.
I would recommend to really do so.
About my daytrip-experience I remember clearly, that the long-hike group
practically raced up to that canyon, one could not afford to take a
pause of more than one minute, when wanting to keep pace with the others
and not fall back from the main group.
Then some time in the middle, there was a merge with the short-hike group.
When we reached the canyon I was wondering that some people there still
felt like talking about computer- and software-development issues, as if
they had not had enough of that already during the conference so far.
While most of the others were having lunch and took a rest at Soliat, I
went off to take some more photos there.
Then we went to Neuchatel by bus and had some instructive and
interesting presentations about the research going on there at CSEM,
with lots of technical detail, which I felt was just right for us, like
an extra unofficial DebConf-BoF.
Finally there was the dinner on board of FRIBOURG. The ship went to
Vaumarcus first in order to pick up a group of people, who had different
daytrip-activities, then it went back to Neuchatel and *very* slowly
back again to Vaumarcus.
There was some last hiking to make the way back up to Le Camp from the dock.
It was really lots of activity for one day, possibly even enough for a
whole week, but quite enjoyable.
