No idea, but for the visa I expect four weeks at least.

Train information, so far:

The train D247 aka D14 aka D20LJ  departs in
Berlin-Lichtenberg at 2005-07-06 13:34, goes via Warszawa,
Terespol (midnight), Brest, Minsk, Loknja (again
midnight!) etc. to St Petersburg Vitebskii, arriving
2005-07-08 06:34 after only 39 hours.

For Helsinki, there's either the D34AJ departing from
St Petersburg Ladoj at 2005-07-10 07:32, arriving 12:18 in
Helsinki, or the D36CH, departing 16:32, arriving 21:18,
so that's less than six hours.

It might be cheaper to take the plane.  But the train is
more fun and helps in terms of Kyoto protocol :-)  I will
get price information by Friday.
