Dinner on Tuesday 7 Oct - DebConf 16 Cape Town bid

= Background =
Some of us have been talking about holding one of Debian's annual
DebConf conferences in Cape Town, for some years now. We made a
half-hearted attempt to bid for the 2015 conference last year, and are
making a for more concerted effort, for the 2016 bid.

The bids are finalised at the beginning of December, and a winning
City/team will be picked by the end of January.

= Dinner =
We're going to subvert the usual CLUG Tuesday dinner on 7 Oct to discuss
the bid. I don't have a venue planned, but if we meet at UCT, we can
figure it out.
I see there hasn't been a CLUG talk in a while, should we have a quick
10-20min overview of it, in a lecture theatre before we go to dinner,
and call it a CLUG talk?
Allison and I are both part of the team while not actually living in
Cape Town, but we're using pycon.za as an excuse to be here, and will
spend 6 & 7 Oct, scouting venues in Cape Town.
= IRC Meeting =
There will be a bid team meeting on IRC at 5pm on the Tuesday. Some of
us will probably join this from UCT.
There'll also be a meeting on Saturday 4th, at 3pm, if anyone is
interested.
