Some intermediate thanks to Joerg Schilling

Hi,

in the name of my project scdbackup and its CD burning users
i want to thank Joerg Schilling for providing the burn foundation
since my project started in 1999.

I commend Joerg for his software which still is the foundation
of scdbackup's core CD functionality, although i took substantial
effort to reduce that dependency during the last years.

For cdrecord, for mkisofs, for star: Chapeau (i lift my hat).

I still recommend the use of cdrecord for CD burning within scdbackup
although i have ready a replacement that covers my use cases nearly
as good.
So within the upcomming competition i can hardly take sides because
i have stakes with nearly any of the participating parties.
(I am even undecided what opinion i should have at all in private.)

For scdbackup, any program will do if it behaves roughly like
cdrecord. Nevertheless i would be glad to point to an original
Joerg Schilling cdrecord binary ready for use on mainstream
Linux 2.6 without ide-scsi. Like i pointed to cdrecord-ProDVD.
Please take this as a sincere user proposal, Joerg.

This is no good-bye-Joerg letter at all. It is a reaction on the
ugly words which can be read about Joerg Schilling at other places
issued by totally unrelated bystanders.

On the other hand, this is no crtiticism of the newest fork.
Currently it looks like forking is far better than to further
escalate the quarrels. (Here i do have an opinion.)

So, for another few years: alltogether.

Oh yeah. Not to forget: Thanks to Andy Polyakov.
Not to forget at all. Especially now.

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
