Re: DVD+R reading problem

This list is not specific to Debian, Debian simply happened to *host*
it.

^^^^^^ This's not good enough:-) Complement your report with
dvd+rw-mediainfo output for media in question [preferably] in burner
unit.

Different DVD units have different capabilities. The fact that all
sessions are accessible in another machine doesn't necessarily speak for
some specific qualities of OS running on that machine, rather for
specific qualities of DVD unit.

different from reading multi-session CD. Linux kernel is capable of
multi-session playback(*), but DVD unit has to explicitly support
multi-session DVD+R playback.

(*) well, there is a bug in ide-cd module limiting DVD multi-session
playback, but one can work it around by routing even player unit through
ide-scsi.

Why can't it be right? Not all DVD units are capable of DVD-R
multi-session playback, even less are capable of DVD+R multi-session
playback. And CD multi-session capability doesn't imply DVD
multi-session one.

Take for habit to include the exact output, not how you interpret it. A.
