These aren't valid assumptions. The default option is *not* the status-quo
(it's "further discussion", not "preserve non-free", or "none of the
above", not "another term for Bdale"); and winning does not make an
option the default for future votes.

If you wish to talk about the status-quo, you need to talk about it
independently of the default option.
