That's confusing to me, but then I'm easily confused.

With versions of Windows later than Vista / 2003 you may be better of
using remmina -- if you can put up with its idiosyncrasies. I understand
some people don't see many failures with it. As for me, if I use it to
connect to a number of hosts (The tabbed interface is nice for purposes
of desktop management.) I can count on losing at least one or two of
those session in the course of a day. Some people seem to have better
luck with it.

What I'm getting at is that remmina seems better able to handle
negotiation with terminal services on the later Windows versions,
probably because its using a more advanced RDP specification, though
there's some confusion about that.

Yes, I know. You'd probably have to roll your own file. This is
something I know next-to-nothing about because I've been lucky enough to
encounter very few keyboard incompatibility problems.
