Something went wrong with the transition from perl 5.8 to perl 5.10;
your system seems to be stuck with perl 5.8 at the moment. Perl is used
in many package installations scripts.
I need to know more about the state of perl on your machine; please
post the output of the following commands:
dpkg -l perl\* | awk '/^i/{print $1,$2,$3}'
stat /usr/share/perl/5.8.8/Pod/Usage.pm
ls -l /usr/share/perl/
--
