True tansparency wouldn't display either. It would display
whatever is undernead the window -- including other windows.
Sounds extremely annoying to me. I've usually got aterms
stacked 4 or 5 deep over a good portion of my screen, and
having the text from 5 terminals all merged together seems
uniquely useless.
