epison stylus color 777i (printer)
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=464242 says that the
epson stylus color 777 supports direct ascii printing. So i set up the new
printer (using usb, not paralell port and an appropriate device name) and ran
the command
'lptest 35 6 > /dev/usb/lp0'
as root. I've tested the same command with a usb connected hp deskjet and it
worked fine, so what's wrong now? I know i need to install some drivers
eventually, but this shouldn't require them, right? I'm dual booting on a
desktop, and i've tested the printer (after installing drivers) with windows
and that works... so what's the problem here?
