Hi, ich versteh hier grad Folgendes nicht: # invoke-rc.d postgresql-7.4 start Starting PostgreSQL 7.4 database server: main The PostgreSQL server failed to start. Please check the log output: 2006-12-17 23:20:21 [7234] FATAL: could not create lock file "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432.lock": Permission denied failed! invoke-rc.d: initscript postgresql-7.4, action "start" failed. Dabei sieht /var/run/postgresql/ hier so aus: # ls -lhd /var/run/postgresql drwxrwsr-x 2 postgres postgres 6 2006-12-16 22:46 /var/run/postgresql/ Natürlich ist /var (eigene XFS-Partition) beschreibbar, sonst hätte ich ja noch ganz andere Probleme. :) Mir fällt dazu irgendwie nix ein. Hab mal kurz (ohne viel Ahnung von solchen Sachen) mit strace draufgeguckt, aber da seh ich auch nur, dass sehr häufig erfolglos versucht wird, das Lockfile anzulegen: [pid 10797] open("/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432.lock", O_RDWR|O_CREAT|O_EXCL|O_LARGEFILE, 0600) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied) [pid 10797] open("/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432.lock", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) J. -- I want to look younger than my friends so I will fight ageing as long as I can.
