Here is how I tried but failed:

I boot of the CD and get the following text on the scree:

Welcome to yaboot 0.6
Config file read 483 bytes
Debian GNU/Linux PowerPC (potato)
boot:

At the "boot:" prompt I type

video=ofonly

and get:

Loading kernel
Image not found... try again
boot:

Now I type <CR> at the promt and the boot starts. Some messages about
ramdisk loaded etc fly by, then the screen flashes quickly and turns black
after that. The computer stays active though, I can hear it spinning up 
the CD. 

So I think I am not typing enough at the "boot:" prompt; could you fill me
in with details? Maybe trivial, but I am not a great expert.
