Hi,

I have now uploaded an updated list of multimedia WNPPs - packages that need help getting into or staying in Debian/DeMuDi please check it out:

Let me know about errors or omissions etc.
Hope it's useful.

Having a RFP, or ITP bugs about those packages which don't exit might be good :)

I'll happily make an RFP for those packages I know about and can argue for their inclusion coherently. All these packages should really be in WNPP, otherwise there is not really much point in listing them.

GENERAL NOTE: Anyone can make an RFP (Request for Packaging) if you think a particular application / package should be in Debian - You don't have to be a DD to do this, it does require a link to the source code and you need to be able to explain pretty coherently why it should be in Debian and confirm that the license is DFSG compatible. Also be aware that making an RFP won't in and of itself make anything happen. The work that needs doing here is mostly packaging, so if you can produce a sound Debian package then it may be possible to sponsor uploads or co-maintain via Debian-multimedia, however, this should be only used as a fall-back, the ideal would be to get an existing DD to adopt the package.

(That's AFAIU, comments from existing DDs welcome here if need be)

I've noticed that agnula pages require logging in before editing,
maybe wiki.debian.org also does. I've added a link to that page from
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia, but I think the wiki is
better located into somewhere like
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia/DevelopPackaging, after all,
we're planning to dump those packages into Debian main (or I hope).

Yes indeed. I decided to update the page on d.a.o because there was already an existing page and I have write permissions. It is no problem either to move or mirror to a more convenient location for everyone.

I've taken the liberty to create a copy in wiki.debian.org (after a
bit of editing the formats, I hope I didn't break anything).

Great stuff, Junichi.

I'll carry on working the list with a view to putting the script in place to automatically update. However, as the information changes slowly and there are only a small number of people who will be using or changing this information, it's probably going to be best to do most of it by hand for now. I'll check out the formatting needed for w.d.o.

Thanks for the feedback, so long as it's useful, I shall carry on.

cheers,
