You broke allow-cflags-override.diff, and CFLAGS from dpkg-buildflags are not passed to the build system anymore. Also, nowadays dpkg-buildflags sets also CPPFLAGS and LDFLAGS, so please use them, too.

What about CPPFLAGS? (In dpkg 1.16.1.1 the "-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2" flag was moved from CFLAGS to CPPFLAGS, and it would be nice if sxiv could be compiled with this option.)
