The checks are rather too complex to do on commit, however, the checks _are_ done daily and the results published on [1], so it is pretty easy for translators to check for errors in variables and a few other types of
errors e.g. the day after they commit a translation update.

Maybe a system like websec could be implemented for these checks, so
translators receive notifications when such \/\/\/ error appear?

That would be great. We don't always have time, or remember to check various webpages, but an email serves as an effective reminder.
