But that's only when you're claiming to have installed something that
that you haven't (consider one with "provides: perl5"), not something
inherent in the equivs package itself. Using it to 'conflict' is hardly
likely to break your system. If it is, then any package that provides
such functionality is equally likely to break the system. My point was
that such a package already existed, no need to re-write it.
