I've sent a merge request, and in fact did so a long time ago before my
first NMU, but since the maintainers have been unresponsive it hasn't
gotten merged. The Git repo is in collaborative maintenance, but since
I'm not a Debian member that means nothing for me.

My Salsa repository I've been working in is at
https://salsa.debian.org/jscott/newlib
and the merge request is
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/newlib/-/merge_requests/20

If necessary, I'll probably ask my sponsor for my first salvaging
upload to grant me Salsa access. Alternatively, I might use an
Electronics Team Salsa repo. It's a relatively unimportant decision in
my opinion and I'm on the LowThresholdNMU list anyway, so I'll deal
with that when the time comes.
