Hi Christopher, >I have reviewed all of the other JavaScript packages I am aware of which use GYP (node-contextify, node-groove, node-leveldown, node-postgres, node-sqlite3, node-stringprep, node-ws, >node-zlib, node-expat, node-iconv, node-mapnik, node-raptor, node-srs and node-zipfile) and they all seem to work in this way, with the exception of node-ws, in which case upstream includes a thanks for giving me pointer to similar packages :) >Makefile which includes similar commands. >Debhelper doesn't currently have a "--with gyp" option as far as I know, so I can't see how this can be simplified? Please can you make some suggestions? well, you answered by youself "Debhelper doesn't currently have a "--with gyp" option" I would add "yet" if many packages uses the same gyp facilities, it might be worth implementing them on debhelper (note: it should be really trivial to do, because it will become a new perl module) I never touched debhelper, but a file in /usr/share/perl5/Debian/Debhelper/Sequence and a new dh_gyp or whatever should do the trick :) however, this isn't requested :) Some questions:
