RE: LSB packages

What is missing is a definition of "LSB-Compliant package" ... we have a
definition of "LSB-Compliant Application", but in my mind a package is more
than an application (although the terms seem to be a little mixed up,
suggesting that maybe I'm wrong ...)

If we had a good definition, then it would be a lot clearer how to interpret
the package naming section. How about this:

	LSB-Compliant Package
A collection of one or more LSB-Compliant applications, together
with necessary supporting files, packaged as described in this document.

On the other hand, if we want to remove the distinction between a "package"
and an "application", then lets just be consistent and use the same term
everywhere.

No. Packages coming with a distribution need not be LSB compliant for
an LSB compliant system. Some packages will certainly have an "lsb-"
extension but those are required by LSB, e.g. to provide the LSB
environment.
