WHY should we change the name?  We didn't change the name of
/usr/sbin/sendmail to lsb-mta because we standardized the interface.

All you do by changing the name is breaking all existing scripts.

I would suggest standardizing a subset of the RPM CLI under the name
"rpm".  However, as you point out, it doesn't have to be the RPM binary
as provided by RedHat, any more than /usr/sbin/sendmail has to be what
you can download from sendmail.org.
