I have an idea how to add a feature to apt-get. The utility rsync has an option to log the output to a file. I think it would be useful if apt-get had the same option. The man page for apt-get mentions formatting the output with -q option but dose not tell how to log the output. I am a student. If there is already a way to do this I would appreciate it if you would tell me how to do this. If not I hope this ides is helpful. Thank you, William Welch
