That could be, I will try to reproduce this later if I find the time.
Could you in the meantime confirm that APT warned you in your
(dist-)upgrade about unauthentificated packages as it does in the
cron-apt output you have provided?
It would explain a lot at least…
(and reiterate that it is a bad idea to ignore security warnings).


Regarding the rest: You should have reported it the first time it
happened (easy to say now, isn't it?). I am also repeating the general
idea about downgrades which you have confirmed here: If you try to solve
a problem with downgrades, you have (at least) two problems after it…

Note also that as you can see here bug reports are not ideal to get
input on fixing your system. The support channels like the debian-user
mailinglists or IRC are way better in this regard.
