Talking about "deity" (which became "apt" later) starts months earlier on the
mailinglist Axel pointed out, see the archive [0]. Note that this seems to not
include all mails, refers often to IRC where many quick discussions seem to
have happened and more importantly before the mailinglist was created some
threads on other mailinglists (e.g. debian-devel) mention it, so it might not
be to far fetched to say APT is already 16 years old, depending on what you
count, so prepare for some digging and feel free to tell use what you find.
