[APT Locking BUG...]

Hi! I'm not subscribed to this list. Only asimple consideration:
when a "dist-upgrade" operation is in progress, APT shouldn't allow us to "clean" packages.
On my styem "apt-get --version" reports:
apt 0.8.15.9 for amd64 compiled on Oct 14 2011 12:25:05
Supported modules:
*Ver: Standard .deb
*Pkg: Debian dpkg interface (Priority 30)
S.L: 'deb' Standard Debian binary tree
S.L: 'deb-src' Standard Debian source tree
 Idx: Debian Source Index
 Idx: Debian Package Index
 Idx: Debian Translation Index
 Idx: Debian dpkg status file

and I was able to cause a disaster by executing "apt-get clean" during a system upgrade.
Luckily, all ended well after some fieddling with dpkg :D
