Package: apt
Version: 0.6.45
Severity: minor

apt-get -q still produces some progress reports that aren't suitable
for logging. These are generally percentage completion indicators
which update the percentage complete in place on the screen (using
KDE's Konsole, if that matters). Some of these are produced by
subprograms that apt-get invokes, I believe (e.g., apt-listchanges).

Some of the progress messages I noticed are

The bugreport is very old and i guess already fixed:
Running apt-get with quiet level 1 results in the output

Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...

note that the "Done" messages are "missing" as progress is
no longer emitted and is therefore suitable for logging as far as i
can see as quiet level 1 (or similar) is used a lot in the test cases.

What apt-listchanges and co. do are out of business for
APT as far as i can see, so if the issue with them still exists
please report a bug against them instead.

If i am wrong (which is not completely unlikely) feel free to reopen the bug!

Best regards

David Kalnischkies
