Package: apt
Version: 0.7.22.2
Severity: wishlist

Please add pinning configuration possiblity via separate files
under

	/etc/apt/preferences.d/

The files would be read in alphabetical order, so a numbering sheme
for files would need to be recommended in the sources.list(5) manual
page. (NN<NAME> => like 00first, 10second ...)

This would be analogous feature to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

Version: 0.7.22

Hi Jari Aalto,

first of all: thanks for your report!

> Please add pinning configuration possiblity via separate files

reading the debian/changelog for version 0.7.22 says:
[...]
  [ Julian Andres Klode ]
[...]
  * Support /etc/apt/preferences.d, by adding ReadPinDir() (Closes: #535512)
[...]

So, if your version information is correct you should already have such a
directory and it should work as you requested it here. :)

I am therefore closing this wishlist entry.
If you think this is wrong or if i misunderstood you:
Please feel free to reopen this bug!

Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen,

David "DonKult" Kalnischkies
