Bug#450510: further problems using latest apt, version 0.7.9

Hello everybody, hello Michael, hello Daniel,

If I open a console and enter the following:

apt-ftparchive

I get the following outprint:

Example usage from the Debian archive:
apt-ftparchive packages dists/potato/main/binary-i386/ > \
               dists/potato/main/binary-i386/Packages

This example is not only misleading, but it is illogical too:

Instead it should read:

apt-ftparchive packages pool/main/ > dists/potato/main/binary-i386/Packages

Only in this case the first part points to the hierarchically organized
repository where the packages in question are situated,

and the second part describes the path where the Packages file should be
written to.

If I enter the command conforming literally to the existing example the result
will always be a Packages file with zero length.

And that is what's buggy about the existing example in version 0.7.9.

Can one of you please fix that in the next version of apt??

Regards

Uwe
