I'd like to ask for your opinion on converting the methods mentioned in the topic to use libcurl3 to perform their work instead of doing it all on themselves. I don't know about ftp/rsh/ssh, but at least the http method seems to have some problems (most of the symptoms show themselves in connection with Transfer-Encoding: chunked), and the code doesn't look all to maintainable IMHO. I'd step forward to actually code up http and ftp methods using libcurl3. What do you think of this? Would a dependency for apt on libcurl3 be ok? Cheers, Christian 'Greek0' Aichinger
