I see what the problem is..
You status file is corrupted. It contains an entry like this:
Package: guile1.3
Status: install ok not-installed
Priority: optional
Section: interpreters
Version: 1:1.3.4-3
Which is not valid. The Version field must not be present along with
not-installed. This is a condition I have never encountered, and there is
no saftey check against this, in fact, I'm not totally sure such a check
is even possible without breaking something else..
I'm curious how you managed to do this to yourself?
