Bug#87767: apt-get upgrade fails strangely (Depends: libapt-pkg2.7)
Package: apt
Version: 0.5.0
Should this be severity important? It doesn't work for me at all...
First, see what occurs with apt 0.3.19 :
# apt-get -u dist-upgrade

The following packages will be upgraded
bsdgames fvwm fvwm-common lg-issue23 sox xcolors
6 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 2970kB of archives. After unpacking 351kB will be used.

Abort.
Now with apt 0.5.0 :
# dpkg -i /tmp/apt_0.5.0_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 88816 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace apt 0.3.19 (using /tmp/apt_0.5.0_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement apt ...
dpkg: warning - unable to delete old file `/var/state/apt/lists/partial': Directory not empty

Setting up apt (0.5.0) ...
dhelp_parse: Warning - documents in /usr/doc are no longer supported!
# apt-get -u dist-upgrade

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
apt-move: Depends: libapt-pkg2.7
console-apt: Depends: libapt-pkg2.7
gnome-apt: Depends: libapt-pkg2.7
libapt-pkg-dev: Depends: libapt-pkg2.7
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
Thanks,
Peter
