Bug#35868: apt-get fails if ftp server doesn't understand MDTM
Package: apt
Version: 0.3.4
Hi,
after installing apt 0.3.4 I can't download files from
the ftp-server anymore. apt sends the server an MDTM
command, which the server doesn't understand. It replies
with "500 command not understood". apt aborts then.
The trace:
[The SIZE command works]
1111 write(3, "SIZE /pub/linux/ftp.de.debian.org/debian/dists/slink/main/binary-i386/Packages.g"..., 83) = 83
1111 read(3, "213 490201\r\n", 10240) = 12
[The MDTM isn't understood by the server]
1111 write(3, "MDTM /pub/linux/ftp.de.debian.org/debian/dists/slink/main/binary-i386/Packages.g"..., 83) = 83
1111 read(3, "500 command not understood\0", 10240) = 27
1111 read(3, "\r\n", 10213) = 2
[apt aborts]
1111 write(1, "400 URI Failure\nURI: ftp://ftp.rz.uni-karlsruhe.de/pub/linux/ftp.de.debian.org/"..., 181) = 181
regards
Hadmut
