Hmm... ok, buggy behavior is that apt recommends apt -f install,
but that doesn't work [and no, apt doesn't recommend anything useful
at that point].
As it turned out apt-get -f -m install did absolutely nothing.
Installing the packages which I knew needed to be installed, using
dpkg, didn't solve it either.
What I did to "solve" the problem was:
apt-get check
apt-get -m dist-upgrade
Perhaps apt should be recommending apt-get check instead of
apt-get -f install? Perhaps the apt-get man page should have
a section on problem resolution? I'm not sure...
