I'm not sure why this is a bug, as you have not given any indication of
buggy behavoir.

The man page discourages the use of -f and -m together because they CAN
abort with a cryptic error message if -m undoes something -f required.
They will work together in a limited number of cases.

Perhaps the man page should have a less stronger warning.
