I added a 3 line command to clean out the archive dir.
This will wipe everything but the lock file from /var/cache/apt/archives
and partial/ as well. I also arranged for it to be called when [U]pdate
sucessfully completes from dselect.
Perhaps if we get a better interface to dpkg then the .debs will get
erased as they are installed and this function's use will be for getting
rid of various failure scenarios.
People who do not use dselect will have to call apt-get clean every now
