There's no such thing as ?switch?. Either the EC or kernel handle that
by itself (for example when plugging a headphone), or you do that
completely manually (you mute the volume on one output and unmute on the
other).

As said above there's no ?handling? of sound card in Xfce, it doesn't
try to be smart or anything.
