I still cannot shutdown my computer from xfce menu.  I'm a bit
sorry of that.  But it's must one of:
 - a bug in XFCE,
 - a problem with another piece of software,
 - a problem in documentation,
 - a problem between the seat and the keyboard.

I can be wrong.  Please explain me!

I confirm.  Starting with gdm makes the suspend button visible.
I would be great if it was written somewhere.
