Package: x11-xkb-utils
Version: 7.6+4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
applications -> system -> parameters -> system parameters -> keyboard -> layout
parameters -> parameters -> Ctrl layout options -> right alt as right ctrl +
caps lock as ctrl + right ctrl as right alt
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I have tried to disable right ctrl as right alt, then reboot. It didn't help.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
I launced xev. Right ctrl as right alt was enabled and worked, but not right
alt as right control (both keys sent ALT_R). After disabling right ctrl as
right alt and reboot (right alt as right control and caps lock as control still
selected) right alt sent ALT_R anyway.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Right alt have to sent CONTROL_R.

It seems not so big issue, but for Emacs users I think it is very valuable
option.

About other packages if this issue does not relate to x11-xkb-utils: I've just
(9 march 2012) downloaded debian wheezy netinst iso image and installed a
system.

Closing this old bug. It's not an issue with x11-xkb-utils, and there's
not enough information to usefully reassign elsewhere, especially 10
years later.

Cheers,
Julien
